About my journey as an artist at Vintage Nest Designs. I offer creative and handmade, Dollhouse Miniatures, Digital Print, Greeting Cards, Digital Scrap booking designer in Photoshop and AI Designs.
I am a self taught artist. I grew up on a farm and we learned to do things for ourselves.
My mother taught me how to sew along with other crafts. I had lots of dolls and a dollhouse. I would make my own clothes and pretend furniture for the house. I played with dolls until i was about fourteen. I also wanted to learn how to paint when I was younger but I couldn’t afford the classes. My painting skills did not happen until my late forties after my children were grown. In my free time I would spend my time drawing and drawing. After drawing for a few years, I then started painting my art.
In my fifties, I got a dollhouse for my birthday from my husband. It took me a few months to put it together and get it painted. I then started making my own miniatures for it and it snowballed from there. Here we are some twenty years later with my own website and offering my designs.
